Plating
Plating applies a thin metal layer to a machined part by electroplating or electroless deposition. Nickel, chrome, zinc, copper and tin plating improve corrosion and wear resistance, conductivity and appearance, and most base metals — steels, copper alloys and nickel-iron alloys — can be plated.
